Among northern europeans, Torremolinos isn’t known as a big gay destination. but it actually is! After Madrid and Barcelona it’s the place with the biggest gay nightlife of Spain.
Torremolinos isn’t as beautiful as Sitges or Ibiza city, but it looks way better then Playa del Ingles in Gran Canaria. Torremolinos has lots to offer:
- Beautiful long stretched (gay) beaches with lots of palms.
- The best climate of all European gay destinations.
- Soft winters, sunny springs, and hot summers.
- It is also the closest beach resort from an airport.
Only ten minutes by train from Malaga Airport to the center of Torremolinos!

For the more sophisticated people among us, It is in the center of one of the most interesting cultural areas of Europe. Andalucia has it all: Gorgeous romantic Sevilla, medeaval Cordoba with it’s impressing Mezquita (old morish mosque) and of course the world famous Alhambra complex in Granada.
If that is all too much for you, you can get cultural quickly between in Malaga. It’s only 20 minutes by train. See the Roman theatre, the Alcazaba (morish fort) or the beautifull cathedral. The best thing is on your way back too nightlife you can go shopping in the new big mall at central trainstation. And it is big !

And then of course the gay nightlife. It’s huge! Especially in the weekends people from all over (southern) Spain are going to Torremlinos for a long hot spanish night. There are lots of gay bars, showbars, big disco’s and nightclubs. You can go on all night long and if you have more energy, you can go to one of the afterparty’s till late in the afternoon.
